ZNWLG prepares women for 2011 polls PDF Print E-mail

THE Zambia National Women’s Lobby Group (ZNWLG) has embarked on a program to prepare and empower women that are considering aspiring for political office in the 2011 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

ZNWLG Board chairperson, Tamala Kambikambi said in response to a press query that among the initiatives that are on going is the training of women parliamentary and local government candidates and pushing for the 50/50 campaign.
Kambikambi said this is to ensure that women and men get equal representation at local level.

“The women are being trained amongst other subjects, in policy analysis, leadership skills, media relations and research methods,” she said.

Zambia’s false political crisis 

There will be many reasons for people to disagree. In fact, disagreeing is a very normal thing in life. The right to dissent, although not recognised as such per se, is a fundamental requirement in any functional society – particularly, that which espouses democracy.
