Zambian Airways docket goes to DPP PDF Print E-mail

The joint Investigations Team comprising of the Zambia Police Service, Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) have concluded the first phase of investigations into the operations of the Zambian Airways Corporation.

At a joint press briefing Inspector General of Police, Francis Kabonde said the docket of the case has been forwarded to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Chalwe Mchenga for further consideration.
Kabonde also said that investigations into other areas of operation by the Zambian Airways will continue.

“To this effect the docket of the case has accordingly been forwarded to the office of the Director of Public Procesuctions (DPP) for further consideration, “he said.

The joint Investigations Team has been probing the alleged failure by Zambian Airways to remit passenger service charges to Government as agents of the National Airports Corporation (NAC).

Meanwhile, Kabonde also revealed that investigations into alleged overpayments to members of the MMD food suppliers to government have been concluded and that the docket had been forwarded to the office of the DPP.
 
“This comes in the wake of complaints received from the Patriotic Front (PF) regarding the letter written to the then Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs, Susan Sikaneta by the MMD Lusaka provincial chairman, Mr. Jeff Kaande,” he said.
